Strengthening Women Awareness & Rights [SWAR]:

Strengthening Women Awareness & Rights (SWAR), Womens Grievance Handling Cell is a growing community of women who share a common purpose to learn, educate and collaborate on ideas that have the power to effect meaningful and positive change while fighting the odds they face!! It is an expanding network that brings women together to learn, laugh, and celebrate their authentic self, their unique gifts and their personal power!!

 

Women Grievance Handling Cell:

Womens grievance cell is supposed to sheltered, guard and promotes well being of all women employees of the institute. It takes care of all the problems of women at workplace and takes action.

In the current scenario we find multitudes of women marching towards success in their personal and professional lives. Behind the confidence and strength of these women lies the feminine grace that fights all the odds that comes in their ways. The women grievance cell also deals with the harassment and violence at the workplace.

Objectives:

1. To Uphold the Dignity of Women.

2. To Facilitate a Gender-Sensitive and congenial working environment at CSIT, Durg so that women, whether female employee or girls student, are not subjected to gender specific discrimination

3. Encourage a healthy working environment for all our female staff, students and faculty

4. Work towards building a gender-sensitized environment at our institute

5. Organize workshops and awareness programmes at regular intervals for building a gender-neutral place of work

6. To investigate reported cases of harassment of women, if any and submit its report to the disciplinary authority recommending action to be taken against the accused miscreants.

  Workshop/Training attended:

  1. Dr. Padmini Sharma and Mrs. Manjusha Silas attended a workshop on “Challenges in gender equality & women empowerment” held at Shri Shankaracharya technical campus on 27th sep 2019.
  2. Dr. Pratibha S. Kurup and Mrs Manjusha Silas attended a workshop on “Women empowerment: Issue & challenges” held at CSVTU, Bhilai on 8th jun 2019.

Events organized by SWAR:


1. SWAR organized a workshop for female faculty and staff on 11th Jan.,2018 on Grooming Session by Mrs. Juhi Vyas on “Professional image” the dos and dont for women to get a professional look and to be presentable always were discussed in detail.

2. International Womens week was celebrated 1st–8th March, 2017 with the theme “Women in the Charging World of Work” Chief Guest of the occasion was Mrs. Satrupa Deshmukh (President, Shivnath Shikshan & Seva Samiti), Mrs. Nandini Verma (Treasurer, Shivnath Shukshan & Seva Samiti), Mrs. Sonali Chakroborty (Women activist & Freelancer) and Mrs. Anju Verma, Homework. Inauguration of i-art club, followed by cultural programme, pledge to stop domestic violence and creating awareness on women safety were some of the highlights.

3. SWAR organized a guest lecture for VI Sem. students (boys and girls) by Mrs. Suresha Choubey, Additional Superintendent of Police on 18th Jan., 2017 on Cyber Crime and Womens Security.

4. SWAR celebrated Womens Day on 8th March, 2016 with Poster Competition, Rangoli and Slogan Competition on the theme Bati Bachao Bati Padwao, Chief Guest of the occasion was Mrs. Suresha Choubey.

5. SWAR (Strengthening Women Awareness & Rights) organized a Workshop on Women Empowerment and General Awareness for girls student,faculty and staff on 22nd Aug.,2015 by Mrs. Priya Jayant, Director Education (White Swan Consulting Group), Incharge of India Study Centre, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
