INDUSTRY INSTITUTE PARTNERSHIP CELL [IIPC]

CSIT is playing a leading role in this field and has setup a separate Industry-Institute Partnership Cell. The institute has built up an excellent rapport with leading industrial and business houses in and around Chhattisgarh including Bhilai Steel Plant, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, NSPCL (NTPC SAIL Power Co Ltd), LANCO Solar Pvt Ltd, Indian Broiler Group, CSEB, BSNL, Raipur Dudgh Sangh, All India Radio, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd., Raipur Alloys & Steels Ltd and many more.

    INSTITUTION INNOVATION COUNCIL


    Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.

    MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. Chhatrapati Shivaji Institute of Technology is one of the premier engineering college in the region to have a MHRD approve Institute Innovation Cell. The Council comprises of the faculty members and the students who are involved in the development of the ecosystem leading to idea generation and innovation. CSIT`s Institution Council has been awarded with Two Stars on the basis of its contribution to the development of innovation eco-system in the region.

    Functions of IICs:

    To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion

  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
  • Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
  • Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
  • Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.

    Research is a very integral part of CSIT. The Departments have faculty members and students extensilvely involved in Research activties in order to contribute to and benefit from the advancements in knowledge. The faculty’s strong tradition of Research activities involving industry and the community. Some of our academic staff members are Professional Researchers as well as Tutors and Lecturers, carrying out Scholarly and Scientific Investgation into their specialist subjects. Students are also encouraged to think critically in order to produce an original piece of work.

    Entrepreneurship Development Cell

    Entrepreneurship Development Cell

    The Cell focuses on guiding the students to become Entrepreneurs to create an Employer Culture. Instead of Job Seekers - Students are trained to become "Job Providers". The EDP cell co-ordinates various activities directed towards enterprise creation and entrepreneurship development. The cell aims to enable our students generate income through business activities; empower them by skill development trainings and awareness-building programs.

    Objectives:

  • To create an Environment for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship Development through formal and in-formal programs.
  • To develop Management Personnel at appropriate levels for the non-corporate and unorganized sectors like Education, Rural Development, Small-Scale Industry etc.
  • To promote employment opportunities.


  • Renewable Energy Club

    Renewable Energy Club has been set up at CSIT, Durg to propagate and promote the use of Renewable Energy Sources by the public at large. This club is sponsored by Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA), Raipur

    Objectives:

  • To create awareness on the advantages of utilizing Renewable Energy Sources among the rural population.
  • To impart Technical Knowledge about renewable energy as well as explain the Manufacture, Working and benefits of Renewable Sources.
  • To propagate the use of Non-Conventional Energy Applications such as Solar Lanterns, Solar Water Heaters, Solar Lighting, Solar Cookers etc.
  • RECENT ACTIVITES

  • Development of indirect type of solar dryer for processing Food Product. Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi has given grant for the Total Project Cost under Technopreneur Promotion Program [TEPP].
  • A Model Competition was organized for Higher Secondary School students
  • Essay, Slogan and Model competition were organized for the college students on the theme “Best from Waste”
  • Creating awareness among people of Rural areas about usage of Solar Energy at various places like Science College (Durg), Food Tech (Durg) etc.
  • Creating Awareness on the use of Non-Conventional Energy applications such as Solar Lanterns, Solar Water Heaters, Solar Lighting, and Solar Cookers in Rural area.

    The Entrepreneurship Research Incubation Centre stands for the unique connection between strategic creativity, scientific writing and consistent practical as well as research orientation. In rapidly changing world, organizations need innovative but yield reliable solutions. Our research activities develop and evaluate such solutions together with outcome ranging from curriculum based UG level projects to formula car.
