CSIT Alumni Association



CSIT considers Alumni as one of the important assests of the Institute. Our alumni are ambassadors of our positivity and dedication. In addition they are testimonies to our efforts. CSIT has an established Alumni Association. Since its formation the Association works on organizing different activities to generate just no better bonds but also to get fresh insights.

AIM

Our aim is to promote the interests of CSIT in setting a world standard of academic excellence by strengthening the ties of goodwill and communication between the Institute, its alumni, and its students, and by maintaining programs to serve their needs.



PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Alumni Meet: Samagam Alumni are important part of any institute and to get in touch with them the institute organizes Alumni Meet every year. On the reunion day the alumni’s share their experiences and success story with the management and staff members. The meet is organized at different places in India every year.

2016-17

Electricity generation through height adjustable suspension unit
This project focuses on the conversion of shock-up energy from the road surface to electrical energy via generator unit. The height adjustability of suspension is also taken into consideration, as variation in height of suspension system can alter the ground clearance of the vehicles as well as effective stroke length for power generation. This suspension can be effectively utilized and can be a cheaper alternative in mass production.

Fabrication of Losses in Pipe Friction Apparatus
This report presents computational investigation of turbulent flow inside a pipe. In this work, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of fully developed turbulent flow in a pipe is implemented with the help of ANSYS FLUENT 15.0 software and the variation of axial velocity and friction factor along the length of pipe is analysed. The fluid used for this purpose is water. The results obtained computationally are found in well agreement with the results obtained analytically.

Analysis of thermal conductivity of composites
This project presents a numerical, experimental and analytical investigation on the thermal conductivity enhancement of Blast furnace slag filled epoxy composites. In the numerical study, the experimental analysis is implemented to calculate the effective conductivity of the composite. A composite block of required dimension has been fabricated which has filler material blast furnace slag in the suitable percentage of volume. This study shows that the incorporation of blast furnace slag particulates results in the improvement of thermal conductivity of epoxy resin.

Fabrication and analysis of thermoelectric refrigerator
Thermoelectric refrigeration is new alternative because it can convert waste electricity into useful cooling, is expected to play an important role in meeting today’s energy challenges. The objective of this study is to design and develop a working thermoelectric refrigerator interior cooling volume of 5L that utilizes the Peltier effect to refrigerate and maintain a selected temperature from 7 °C to 22 °C.

Pneumatic sheet metal cutting machine
The objective of the project was to fabricate sheet metal cutting machinewhich is simple in mechanism, easy operate and less space required.Hydraulic machines are also available for sheet metal cutting. But this method is used for only heavy metal cutting and its cost is very high. In this project, Pneumatic system for sheet metal cutting is presented. It is operated by a pneumatic hand lever of two ways control valve.Control valve is operated by a compressor.
UV and gamma ray induced Mechanoluminescience on Sr2 SiO4:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor Photoluminescence study of Sr2SiO4: Dy3+­ doped phosphor which is synthesized by solid state reaction method. Synthesized phosphor was characterized by XRD, SEM and PL analysis. From the XRD pattern structural analysis and crystallite size was calculated. The spectrophotometric determination of prepared phosphor was calculated by CIE technique. The prepared phosphor is suitable for blue-green emission for display applications.

Experimental test rig of Heat Pump
The objective of our project was to design and fabricate the Heat Pump Experimental Test Rig and to estimate the coefficient of performance. An air to air heat pump experimental test rig was fabricated.Refrigerant R134a was used as a heat carrying substance. The test rig contains the Reciprocating Compressor of capacity ¼th ton and fin & tube type heat exchangers. The operating cycle on which our test rig works is vapour compression cycle. The actual result obtained is approximately within the range of theoretical values.

Optimization of cutting parameters for MRR and Machining Power by DOE
The productivity and quality are two important characteristics those control most of the manufacturing processes. In this study, quality of machined surfaces in turning operation is optimized through Taguchi method.Factorial designs (DOE) methodology, is applied to optimize the cutting parameters in vertical CNC milling machine while machining AISI4340 alloysteel, hardness 350 HB with coated carbide tool.
